Comprehensive guide offers solid, free tech-biz advice

Insightful: Cerini & Associates' 28-page instruction manual guides tech companies through some choppy waters.

A regional accounting giant is offering some solid – and absolutely free – business-building advice to early-stage tech firms.

Bohemia accounting firm Cerini & Associates LLP has published “Business Insights: Technology Industry,” a comprehensive guide designed to steer startup (and older) technology companies in the right fiscal direction.

Noting a “technology explosion” over the last 20 years, the 28-page guide offers step-by-step advice based on Cerini & Associates’ “decades of experience working with technology-based companies.” Topics include early-stage funding, R&D tax credits, equity-based compensation, intellectual property protection and payroll management, among others.

Cerini & Associates has also scheduled a Nov. 7 “group discussion” marking the launch of “Business Insights: Technology Industry,” featuring expert panelists discussing the guide, common blunders to avoid and other useful strategies for technology enterprises. The event is slated to begin at 9:30 a.m. at WeWork SoHo West, a Manhattan co-working space managed by the WeWork network.

The accounting firm is planning an online simulcast for those who can’t attend the Nov. 7 discussion in person. To register for the live webcast, email Lula Lukasiewicz at lulal@ceriniandassociates.com.
