Qosina Corp., an Edgewood-based distributor of components for the medical device and cosmetics industries, is moving its headquarters to a Rechler Equity Partners building near MacArthur Airport in Ronkonkoma.
The firm currently operates from two facilities totaling about 90,000 square feet in the Heartland Business Center in Edgewood. It will take 95,000 feet in a 206,000 Rechler facility on Orville Drive, once home to Atkins Nutritionals, the no-carb diet people. The relocation is expected to be completed in August.
Founded in 1980 by medical device veteran Stuart Herskovitz, Qosina supplies disposable components like tubing, clamps and connectors. Herskovitz launched the Qosmedix cosmetics division in 1987, after watching a department store customer sample a lipstick, then return the product to the shelf. It now is a leader in disposable cosmetic applicators, sampling jars and makeup brushes.
The company has about 100 employees and expects to add more following the move.
