Jobs tick up in November

Long Island’s unemployment rate dipped to 4.0 percent in November, down 0.1 of a percentage point from a year earlier and matching the lowest November rate since 2007, the state Labor Department said Tuesday. The improvement is the result of more people working and fewer people in the labor force, which declined by 3,900 year over year, to 1.47 million.
