A leading Long Island business consultancy has completed a high-profile merger.
Regional audit and tax firm Cerini & Associates has acquired Syosset tax preparer Joseph Sciacca & Company CPAs, with President Joseph Sciacca becoming Cerini & Associates’ eighth partner and the entire Sciacca & Co. team coming along for the ride.
Terms of the takeover were undisclosed. But bringing Sciacca & Co. into the fold significantly expands the footprint and capabilities of Bohemia-based Cerini & Associates, according to Managing Partner Kenneth Cerini.

“Many people view us as a nonprofit firm, which is an important part of our practice, but not the only thing we do,” Cerini noted. “This merger will continue to expand our knowledge and resources in working with more traditional businesses.”
Specifically, the merger enhances Cerini & Associates’ abilities within the construction and real estate industries, while giving the firm a second Long Island office. The four-person Sciacca & Co. team will continue working out of the company’s longtime Underhill Boulevard location, under the Cerini & Associates flag.
Sciacca, who is working with Cerini and other partners to integrate the two companies, said a “comprehensive approach to serving their clients” made Cerini & Associates an attractive destination for his 2017 startup.
“We really like the high quality, integrity and focus on adding value to every relationship,” Sciacca, who also owns Hauppauge-based mortgage specialist Evolution Mortgage, said in a statement. “This has always been my firm philosophy and is something we could really get behind, and something we know will benefit each and every one of our clients.”
