New York State’s largest healthcare provider is bulking up its already impressive commercialization efforts.
New Hyde Park-based Northwell Health, also the state’s largest private employer, has announced a collaborative partnership with Digital Gadgets, a New Jersey-based technology manufacturer and distributor with a phenomenal track record and a global reach.
Founded in 2007, Digital Gadgets – both a specialty distributor for leading tech brands and a brand owner/manufacturer of new tech products – boasts “logistics facilities” across the nation and “sourcing offices” in Asia, according to the company website.

Joe Moscola: Care packaging.
More impressive is Digital Gadgets’ product-innovation and retail-supply history, with Apple, Microsoft, Intel, Atari, Nintendo, Sega and other technology world-beaters populating the firm’s eye-popping client list.
That sounds like an ideal partner to help bring a line of Northwell-branded wellness products to market. According to the plan, Digital Gadgets subdivision DG Surgical will serve as exclusive manufacturer of the new wellness line – and well-connected distributor to a world of retail, healthcare and government customers.
Northwell Health Executive Vice President of Enterprise Services Joe Moscola praised the collaboration, noting it will “improve the health of communities and define tomorrow’s healthcare.”
“Launching a wellness product line that will reach consumers across the country exemplifies Northwell’s commitment to community health and our belief that local care and local access to care drive better health outcomes,” Moscola added.
The promising partnership extends Northwell’s own very capable research-and-development operations, including scientific lab work at the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research and next-generation medical-device development through Northwell Holdings.
It also continues a hot streak for Digital Gadgets, a major donor to – and big winner in – Gov. Kathy Hochul’s re-election campaign. The New Jersey firm also provided several government entities with critical personal protective equipment and testing assays during the COVID pandemic.
Digital Gadgets founder and CEO Charlie Tebele applauded that Northwell “championed innovation to combat the COVID-19 pandemic” and said the health system’s plan for a best-in-class wellness product line “further demonstrates why Northwell is a national leader in the healthcare space.”
“Coupling Digital Gadgets’ manufacturing and distribution expertise with Northwell’s clinical strengths will arm patients and consumers with exceptionally high-quality, physician-approved products and set a gold standard in the health-and-wellness marketplace,” Tebele added.
