One of Long Island’s top hardware designers has gone soft.
Intelligent Product Solutions is no stranger to programming: Its longtime focus on the Internet of Things and wearable “smart” tech has required the Hauppauge-based product-design specialist – as of 2018, a subsidiary of Forward Industries – to create as many software solutions as hardware solutions.
But with its new Intelligent CloudCare division, which officially launched Wednesday, IPS is going all-in on IT, drawing on its long experience to help small and midsized businesses manage networks, analyze infrastructure and otherwise streamline their computer operations.
Offering everything from webhosting and server management to desktop support and cybersecurity protocols, Intelligent CloudCare boasts a broad range of certifications, including Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert, Comptia Network + and AWS Cloud Practitioner. Like IPS and Forward Industries, which relocated from Florida late last year, the spinoff is centered in Hauppauge.
Leading the new division is Managing Director Daniel Aponte, IPS’s longtime senior director of software engineering and IT. Aponte, who also headed up IPS’s Enterprise Application Development Group, said the waning days of the COVID pandemic – replete with technological hurdles for businesses of all shapes and sizes – is the perfect time to launch the new IT division.

Daniel Aponte: Perfect timing.
“With more than half of New York City Metropolitan Area businesses estimated to be back in their offices by September, there will certainly be new IT challenges to support on-site employees, especially given the new hybrid-remote workplace,” the managing director noted. “Intelligent CloudCare is taking all our knowledge, our reputation and the extensive experience from our work at IPS and building a world-class IT team that will rival any other out there.”
Intelligent Product Solutions co-founder and President Mitch Maiman stressed that the new division leverages skills IPS has spent years sharpening, and called Wednesday’s launch “another step in the extension of our business into adjacent service domains.”
“We have been providing IT and software support services for years to a variety of our clients, as well as internally,” Maiman told Innovate Long Island. “Forming Intelligent CloudCare allows us to focus on the unique needs of customers in this space.”
While the new division will focus first on the needs of businesses in the Greater New York region, expect that service area to grow quickly. In addition to its international clientele, Forward Industries boasts subsidiary divisions throughout Europe and Asia – and that global presence will certainly rub off on the spinoff, according to Forward Industries Chief Financial Officer Anthony Camarda.
“We’re very pleased to support the launch of this new IPS division, [which] provides valuable IT services to companies,” Camarda said in a statement. “The Intelligent CloudCare team delivers … high-quality IT services to companies with multiple sites both nationally and internationally.”
