Farmingdale State College officially opened its three-story, $19.3 million business school expansion on Thursday, adding new classrooms — eight of them with tiered “collaborative” seating — and offices for 40 professors.
More than 2,200 students are enrolled in the business program, with total enrollment at the college now at 8,400.

Farmingdale Senior Vice President George LaRosa, Dean Richard Vogel, College Council Chair Patricia Hill Williams, Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci, President Hubert Keen, Urbahn Architects Debra Verne and Nat Baranco, and Stalco Principal Kevin Harvey.
The business school addition is the largest component of a $185 million modernization and renovation of the campus, which includes a new Information Commons in the library, refurbished classrooms and laboratories, upgraded athletic facilities, and landscaping.
SUNY Chancellor Nancy Zimpher and local dignitaries attended.
