Regional jobless rate continues slow slide

Long Island’s unemployment rate was 4.1 percent in August, down 0.4 percentage points from a year ago, the Labor Department announced Tuesday. Nassau County’s rate decreased by 0.3 percentage points to 3.9 percent, while the Suffolk rate dipped 0.4 percentage points to 4.3 percent.
