No. 43: Aleeia Abraham – Business in the BlaQue

Go east, young woman: Master business networker Aleeia Abraham was inspired by a Long Island-based organization to create the BlaQue Resource Network -- and is now looking to expand her Queens-based group into Nassau and Suffolk.

Black business is big business.

Generating more than $141 billion in annual nationwide revenues, Black-owned businesses form an economic bloc that cannot be ignored – and should be vigorously supported, according to BlaQue Resource Network founder Aleeia Abraham, who sees supporting Black businesses as essential to the health of local communities and larger economies.

Through a popular Facebook group, dynamic events and other progressive positivity, the Queens College graduate has already rallied 25,000 networkers to this noble socioeconomic cause – and she has big ideas about expanding her Queens-based efforts into Nassau and Suffolk.

In today’s episode, Aleeia joins Spark host Gregory Zeller to discuss her ambitious goals and her innovative methods – and how her stints as a musician and a circus ringmaster (!) helped her find her voice.
